| Chasing the Wish was the popular Alternate Reality Game by Dave Szulborski
and the first to utilize "behind the scenes" designers that
were only responsible for a small portion of the game design (typically
in creating puzzles, designing a website, or voicing a character) while
still being able to maintain a player status due to their unfamiliarity
with the other plot and puzzle pieces. As one of the "behind the
scenes" designers, I was responsible for Faerytrail.com which was
not only part of the game but is also one of the most comprehensive websites
regarding faeries and faery folk lore. My responsibility included designing
the site, writing the content for the site, and interacting as the character
that ran the site. In the process, I learned more about faeries than I
ever imagined that I would. |
| Push, NV was a mainstream attempt at an interactive television show
with some "ARG-like" elements produced by Live Planet and airing
on ABC. In order to introduce people into the existing community and similar
games, I created pushdiner.com which linked to a number of player resources
on existing community sites as well as maintained a very comprehensive
guide to the television show including relevant news, cast biographies,
transcripts, maps of the fictional town, and descriptions of each character
and location. It wound up being the most comprehensive website regarding
the shortlived television series and was referred to on official ABC and
Push, NV websites. |
