Current Research eTV is an especially exciting field now as more homes are establishing high technology media centers in their living rooms with such things as high definition televisions, tivo & dvr technologies, and digital cable. With the increasing familiarity with computer technologies, some homes are even taking advantage of Microsoft Media Center and attaching the Mac Mini to their television sets. With all of this growth, groups that explore the possibilities of converging Television with computers such as the Georgia Tech eTV Prototyping Group are bursting with possibilities. Currently, under the direction of Janet Murray, I am working with a team on creating an interface for a highly annotated critical edition of a popular classic film.
Mobile technologies are ideal for creating pervasive experiences. From guiding users to predetermined locations to allowing users instant communications on the go, the possibilities are nearly endless and so very exciting. In conjunction with the Mobile Technologies Group at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I am exploring multiple user interaction, mobile gaming, and broadband entertainment through mobile devices, primarily cellular phones.
